Resolved Question: Is it legal in New York State to have a friend get online ordained and marry someone in a unitarian chapel?

We are getting married in Ithaca, NY at Unitarian Chapel. We have a friend we want to marry us and he has gone online and filled his name and info in and they say he is ordained minister. I believe he has to pay $30 for a marriage certificate to present to Chapel. Does all of this actually mean legally we can get married? I have heard it would not hold up in a court.... Read More »
